I’m hesitant to call this “manga”, but i’m too lazy to find a new category for it right now.

This is my beloved Lorenzo, yet again. You’re going to see alot of him. He is the main character in what started as my nanowrimo project, which is continuing to be in the works. The tattoo is a Forces ward, which, in a fashion, acts as a bulletproof vest. That coatl thingy hanging around him is Scaramouch, his Avatar (or for you folks that don’t play Mage, it’s the spirit that makes him a mage). It doesn’t feel done to me, but maybe you guys can help me out with that.

Enzo doesn’t often run around with no shirt on, but i wanted to show his tattoo, and man, there is a decided lack of sexy manchest right now, so i needed to draw some sexy manchest. I feel like he SHOULD have chest hair, but i dunno how to draw it without it looking weird.

This particular version of him, he is 35 (to have taken place in 2005). I fear maybe his eyes are too big, but i dunno.

Nekocon 2009 PreGame

This coming weekend (Nov 5th through the 9th), i will be in Hampton Roads VA for Nekocon 12. I will be there as staff photographer again this year, so please wave me down if you want a photoop, or come by my art table in Artist’s Alley. Again, look for the Celtic Table Cloth. Since AWA went so poorly, i still have those originals for sale. Odds are good i will also attend the happy hour at the Embassy hotel. Do come by and say hi!

Lorenzo Giovanni Volume 2 WiP

As i mentioned in a previous post,  I create books for my characters. In our current World of Darkness game, we completed a chronicle, and with as much as my character grew in that time, i figured it was time to make a new Enzo Handbook.

This is a WiP for the front cover. I need to give him a little more of a 5 o’clock shadow, and unify the background a little more, but overall, i’m pretty happy with the direction it’s going.

25 Essential Expressions: Lorenzo Giovanni

I did this like, a year ago. It gave me the chance to really nail down some concrete characteristics of Lorenzo, even if none of them really look like him now. I’ve since added more to his bone structure, refined his hairline, and made him less Asian looking. Never thought THAT would be a problem….

“Flirty” looks suspiciously like my exboyfriend Adam.

Of the lot, i like “Rage” the most. :3

Hourlies: 10.06.09

I did some Hourlies about a month ago. The idea is that you keep an hourly log of your day. Generally, they’re easier to accomplish when you have a slow and easy day.

Anime Weekend Atlanta 2009

So it turns out that i have a free, last minute table, room and ticket to AWA. Dizzy challenged me by giving me a handful of baggies, board and cardstock, and told me to do pretty postcard type drawings. 20 3×5 cards, done by HAND. No computer use allowed, becuase the intent is to sell the originals. And i never sell originals.

Considering i haven’t done a piece from start to finish by traditional means since school really, i’m really proud of myself for actually fulfilling this challenge.

Sako’s Suit

My best friend wanted to see me in a suit. So i just took this shot, through it into photoshop, and uploaded it inside of a half hour. I’m actually very pleased with the results considering how rushed and slapped together it was.

Delia Revisited, Wakkawa Style

Watch out this one is grown ups only, since she’s naked. hey, naked chicks are art. especially shiny ones.

A DA artist that goes by the name Wakkawa seems to have an aversion to putting pants on some of his women, and to be honest, i think it’s downright fantastic. Since i’m all about drawing voluptuous women, who better to test this costume style on but ol’ Delia, my long neglected muse. She just doesn’t do it for me anymore… drawing that hair used to keep me hypnotized for hours. Then i made the mistake of doing an extreme closeup of her hennaed face at 15×20 in prismapencil. After 2 weeks, my hand about fell off, and i kinda didn’t like drawing her anymore.

Well, with my old partner in crime moving back to the area in a couple months, i know we’ll be drawing alot of Delia and her Thiswen, so i figured i’d remind myself what it was like to draw her. A shame that i don’t feel the same love for the green haired Norn that i did 7 years ago.

This is a work in progress. I will actually upload my progress of each sitting.
