So the art of :icon3nrique: has been inspiring me quite a bit lately, and i found some of his Jon Carter doodles in my Watch. After seeing this, I felt the need to make the Late Night Art Jam the Princess of Mars. The critics are ripping Jon Carter apart, but honestly, the people seem to really love it. I think they did very well with what they had to work with.

I kind of did this for my dad. I grew up around the Jon Carter series, but never read it: i just stared longingly at the 70s Frazetta illustrated covers.

There’s a couple technical errors in here that i’m too lazy to fix right now. I tried doing the crown, but it was fighting me WAY more than the rest of the piece, so i just got rid of it.

  1. I’ve found movie critics to be increasingly unreliable regarding the entertainment value of cinema. Being paid to be critical doesn’t seem to equate to the ability to discern whether a particular offering is actually an enjoyable experience.
